Native Apple Silicon + Intel
A universal Mac app in a DMG or ZIP, targeting macOS 12 or later. Work with the same sites, discovery and camera tools as Windows and Linux.
THE COMPLETE TOOLKIT · WINDOWS + LINUX + APPLE MAC
Find it. Set it up. See the picture. Solve the problem. Explore the tools that take a CCTV installation from the first discovery to a useful handover.

Real app. Real camera previews. Screenshots were captured on Linux; the workspace is shared across all three platforms. The Live View, stream information, focus and PTZ images show an authorised camera feed, with its network address kept private. Other screens use synthetic devices and demonstration evidence. Captions explain what each image shows; one camera does not establish compatibility with every model.
NEW: APPLE MAC SUPPORT
A universal Mac app in a DMG or ZIP, targeting macOS 12 or later. Work with the same sites, discovery and camera tools as Windows and Linux.
Mac route, gateway and neighbour diagnostics join the existing connection tools. Keep Live View running in its own window while you investigate.
Windows keeps its installer update flow. Mac checks select a universal package for manual installation; Linux uses its native or manual installer.
Mac builds are ready for testing; real Mac camera and desktop checks are still needed. Read the Mac installation guide →
Start on the local network, follow a routed address or work through a trusted remote probe.
View screen
01 / Find & connect
Find compatible cameras and recorders in one live inventory.
Multicast discovery normally stays within the local broadcast domain. SADP can find compatible devices with addresses outside the host subnet.
Discovery inventory populated with synthetic devices; no network scan was performed.
View screen
01 / Find & connect
A different subnet does not have to mean a different tool.
Requires a working route and reachable services. Routed access does not carry local SADP multicast or guarantee support for SADP writes.
Add-by-IP setup dialog, before any network request.
View screen
01 / Find & connect
Work through an explicit network range and see which addresses respond.
Silence is not proof that an address is unused. Neighbour and vendor information is shown only when available.
Scanner setup with a synthetic documentation network and adapter.
View screen
01 / Find & connect
Reach the broadcast domain at the other end of the connection.
Needs an authorised SSH host with the compatible sadptools CLI installed. Remote observations do not enable local Layer 2 write operations.
Remote-discovery configuration screen; no SSH connection was made.
Explicit, reviewed actions for compatible Hikvision equipment, with device identity and outcome kept in view.
View screen
02 / Set up devices
Set the first administrator password on a supported inactive device.
Password rules and activation support depend on firmware. A timeout does not establish that the password was unchanged.
Activation form for a synthetic inactive device. No password was entered or activation sent.
View screen
02 / Set up devices
Bring compatible equipment onto the network it needs to use.
SADP writes need the appropriate local adapter. A web interface reachable through a router does not guarantee SADP write reachability.
Network-configuration form with synthetic addresses; no settings were applied.
View screen
02 / Set up devices
Use the recovery method the camera actually supports.
This does not bypass camera security. Security questions must already be configured; supported models and recovery protocols vary.
Recovery form with explicitly synthetic question labels. No answers or passwords were supplied.
View screen
02 / Set up devices
Prepare a consistent installation without repeating every field by hand.
Changes stay explicit and firmware-dependent. The plan is not proof that an address is unused or that every operation will succeed.
Bulk-provisioning controls for the demonstration inventory; no plan was applied.
Save the site context, equipment history and supporting files on your own computer.
View screen
03 / Sites & credentials
Return to a job with the equipment list already organised.
Saved demonstration site containing synthetic camera and recorder records.

03 / Sites & credentials
Keep the practical details beside the device they describe.
Unknown values remain unknown. Web access and TLS certificate decisions use the detected endpoint.
Saved-device details using illustrative identifiers and notes.
View screen
03 / Sites & credentials
Manage authorised access without scattering passwords through inventories.
Windows uses account-based credential protection. Linux and Apple Mac use a master-passphrase vault; Mac Keychain auto-unlock is not implemented. Use encrypted site backups to move credentials between platforms.
Credential-management dialog with a synthetic profile and no visible secret.
View screen
03 / Sites & credentials
Take the site’s working context with you.
A restored copy has new local asset IDs; print new equipment labels for that copy.
Portable site-backup dialog; no real site data or passphrase is shown.
View screen
03 / Sites & credentials
See what changed and retain evidence from earlier visits.
History screen for the synthetic demonstration site.

Keep a reference before changing compatible equipment.
The current adapter provides a restore preview; actual configuration restore is disabled until a validated write adapter is available.
Configuration-backup and restore-preview controls, before a device read.
A separate Live View window keeps the camera visible while you continue working in the main application.
View screen
04 / Live View & imaging
Open a camera and start watching without a second play-button step.
Playback uses RTSP over TCP. Try H.264 first on Apple Mac; H.265/HEVC depends on the OS and decoder. Stream and credential support also depend on the camera.
Live H.265 video from an authorised physical camera. A temporary local relay keeps its network address private; no camera settings were changed.
View screen
04 / Live View & imaging
Understand what the video connection is doing.
Unavailable metrics stay unknown. Encoded frame rate and displayed frame rate are different measurements.
Live stream metrics from an authorised physical camera. Unavailable measurements remain unknown; the temporary relay address is shown in place of the camera address.

04 / Live View & imaging
Use the live picture to make a more deliberate setup.
Digital zoom and guides affect the preview. Sharpness is relative, not a calibrated measurement of focus or optical performance.
Preview-only alignment guide and relative sharpness trend over real camera video. No physical focus or camera settings were changed.
View screen
04 / Live View & imaging
Control supported camera mechanisms with explicit operator intent.
Physical controls depend on advertised capabilities and permissions. Preset preview does not program a device tour.
PTZ capability and arming controls alongside real camera video. Physical controls were not queried, armed or operated.
View screen
04 / Live View & imaging
Read supported imaging settings and review one change at a time.
HLC, IR-intensity and privacy-mask editing do not have validated adapters. An unconfirmed change is not automatically retried.
Image-tuning setup screen before reading device capabilities.
Move from reachability to device behaviour without losing the connection to the site inventory.

05 / Network & diagnostics
Review equipment health with consistent, recorded checks.
A failed or unsupported check is evidence to investigate, not a complete diagnosis.
Saved health-audit findings generated from explicitly synthetic fixtures.

05 / Network & diagnostics
Connect camera symptoms to the managed switch beneath them.
Mapping confidence and PoE availability vary with switch support and network topology. These tools do not cycle PoE power.
Synthetic managed-switch evidence and camera-to-port mappings; no switch was polled.

05 / Network & diagnostics
Check the actual route to the selected device.
Routed cameras do not have to share your subnet. Cached neighbour entries are not proof of a live device; a timeout or blocked ping alone does not establish failure.
Connection-troubleshooter controls targeting the local test fixture; no checks were run for this screenshot.

See what a device reports through supported management APIs.
This is a bounded read tool, with no arbitrary URL or write-method editor. Advertised capabilities are not all verified behaviour.

05 / Network & diagnostics
Review observable exposure and supported account information.
Read-only checks do not try default passwords or automatically harden a device. Missing evidence is not a security certification.
Security-inspection setup, before any device connection.
Bring recorder channels, event observations and storage assumptions into the commissioning workflow.

06 / Recording & events
Make the camera-to-recorder relationship visible.
Live-stream channel numbers and recording-track IDs are not always interchangeable.
Saved synthetic channel inventory; no recorder was contacted.

06 / Recording & events
Inspect supported recording metadata over an explicit time window.
Coarse, partial or ambiguous results cannot prove precise gaps. Verified replay retrieval is not implemented; confirm playback on the recorder.
Recording-search setup with explicit time bounds, before a search.

06 / Recording & events
Observe supported camera events while you test the installation.
No observed event is not proof that the camera failed to detect something; topic and subscription support vary.
Event walk-test controls; no subscription was started.
View screen
06 / Recording & events
Record a deliberate plate-detection test with its conditions.
Vendor-only plate feeds, image attachments and VMS event injection are unsupported. No event means unverified, not a measured detection failure.
ANPR test setup; no plates or camera footage are included.

06 / Recording & events
Turn recording assumptions into a capacity conversation.
This is an estimate. Unknown bitrates leave the estimate incomplete; real retention depends on the recorded workload and recorder behaviour.
Local storage calculation using synthetic bitrate and capacity assumptions.
Keep diagrams, maintenance decisions and evidence useful to the next technician who visits.

07 / Planning & handover
Put equipment back into its physical context.
Direction cones are manual annotations, not calculated optical coverage or a guarantee against blind spots.
Illustrative floor plan and synthetic placements, not real premises.

07 / Planning & handover
Preserve identity and history through a hardware change.
This is a planning and inventory workflow. It does not clone settings, transfer credentials or automatically reassociate NVR channels.
Replacement-plan setup; no inventory retirement or device change was performed.

THE SAME ENGINE. YOUR TERMINAL.
Alongside the Windows, Linux and Apple Mac desktop app, use the standalone sadptools CLI for discovery, interface enumeration, routed scans and troubleshooting. JSON output makes the results useful in scripts. The networking engine runs without a graphical desktop. Prebuilt CLI packages are available for Windows and Linux; the Mac downloads contain the desktop app.
